In 1982 a small group of water garden enthusiasts formed a garden club like no other club in the OKC Metro - the Water Garden Society of Oklahoma (WGSO). The WGSO objective is to promote water features in the garden. Our goal is to increase interest by sharing the benefits of water gardens and how incorporating one in your landscape helps create a natural habitat for relaxation and enjoyment.
Water gardening is typically known for pools of water with plants and fish, but it encompasses any water feature. Whether you have a fountain on the patio, a large koi pond, or somewhere in between, water gardening is for everyone and the Water Garden Society of Oklahoma is the place to start before your take the plunge. Our members range from novice to Master Gardeners with varying types of yards and water features and share tips, tricks, plants, seeds, cuttings, and fish with fellow members. Join WGSO before you BUILD! Annual membership is just $25 per household. WGSO members open their gardens to the public each year for the WGSO Annual Public Pond Tour. Bookmark this page to come back to each season to find out when and where you can obtain our maps for this inspiring self guided tour. Tour Guides go on sale each season at area garden centers and water garden retailers.
